Angela Lee

Biography

Angela Lee (she/her) is a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Department of Communication, where she studies media psychology in the Social Media Lab. Her research uses mixed-methods including qualitative interviews, quantitative surveys, and field experiments to develop and test interventions to support individuals and communities in responding to digital challenges. In partnership with community partners PEN America and MediaWise, her recent research aims to combat digital misinformation targeted towards communities of color, particularly by increasing access to multilingual fact-checks, leveraging community resources to create networks of mutual support, and designing community-based workshops to improve our collective resistance to disinformation.
